Community Conversations: Sanctuary

Please join us for a screening of the award-winning documentary, Sanctuary, on Saturday, September 12, 2:00-4:30pm at Providence Church on Daniel Island.

Sanctuary is a feature-length film that exposes the plight of LGBTQIA+ individuals within modern faith systems—told through the eyes of a visionary architect whose passion project becomes a lifeline. As doctrine collides with identity, a sacred space rises from rejection, offering refuge and hope.

The event kicks off Community Conversations, a series of dialogues on topics relevant to living a modern life through the lens of faith. Immediately following the screening, the audience is invited to a panel discussion including filmmakers Autumn McAlpin and Vienna Boyles, along with Stan Mitchell, a Nashville, TN pastor quoted in the film, Jensen Smith of AFFA (Alliance for Full Acceptance), and Providence Church pastor Dan Freemyer.
