Laughing through Loss, Love, and Life with Chaplain Norris Burkes
No doubt, the past couple of years have been extraordinarily difficult. So, if it’s been awhile since you laughed so hard you wanted to cry, join us as we welcome Chaplain Norris Burkes to an afternoon presentation entitled “Laughing through Loss, Love, and Life” on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 4pm in our sanctuary.
Burkes’ humorous and hope-filled approach to everyday spirituality is beloved by a legion of readers of his weekly syndicated column featured in 35 newspapers across the country, including Charleston’s Post and Courier.
Recipient of numerous accolades, Burkes was honored with the Will Rogers Humanitarian award in 2019 for his coverage of Chispa Project, a nonprofit that establishes libraries in Honduran elementary schools.
Burkes is a retired Air Force chaplain who, along with wife Becky, calls Auburn, California home. They are the proud parents of four children and four grandsons.
Light refreshments served afterward. Reservations are not required but appreciated; click here to register.
Norris Burkes is a columnist, speaker and author of No Small Miracles. A retired chaplain with the Sacramento VA Hospital and the Air National Guard, Burkes’ writing takes a spiritual, often comical – if not irreverent – look at everyday life.
