What happens when we hear a story in its context, rather than just a snippet? Could we discover that the story isn't about a woman, but about us?
We're afraid of many things. Some of which keep us from growing. Are you afraid of following Jesus?
It is scary to be in a situation where you don't know anyone. But how much more are we afraid that someone might know us--really know us? How much do we fear God knowing us?
How often do we live into the future, expecting the worst of all possibilities? How often do we allow our fear of failure to keep us from doing what we know we should, even what we want? To us comes the word, "Do not be afraid!"
